Founded in 1872, Lander University is a state-assisted, four-year university with traditional liberal arts and science programs and professional programs in business, education and nursing. Communication counts when you’re an international student. A resident of Finland, Pajunen keeps in touch with her family through e-mail, instant messaging and voice chat programs on her laptop. Her mother also checks the Lander Web site regularly to keep up with what's happening on campus. The recipient of a political science scholarship, Pajunen is among 52 students from 17 countries who are enrolled at Lander.
