Academic Success Center
(All you have to do is "ASC")
The Academic Success Center (ASC) houses the tutoring labs for the University as well as coordinates several programs aimed at improving student success: the Student Academic Success Program (SASP), the SPRINT summer program, the Academic Success Center Advisement Program (ASCAP), Freshman Mentoring Program, and the Early Alert program.
- The Academic Success Center provides free tutoring to students through the Mathematics Lab, Writing Center, Peer Tutoring Lab, and PRAXIS I Tutoring Lab.
- The ASCAP advising program helps at-risk students achieve a greater chance of success through careful advisement and course selection as well as follow-up session.
- The ASC also is responsible for a program for probation students (SASP) this program provides counseling regarding courses to repeat, what grades must be achieved to avoid suspension or to get off of probation, and study skills enhancement.
- The ASC coordinates the Early Alert Program as well as the Freshman Mentoring Program both of which are aimed at helping students achieve a higher level of success in college.
- In addition, the ASC administers the placement testing for the campus as well as standardized testing for the Educational Testing Service (ETS), and directs the Access and Equity program which includes the SPRINT summer program.
