Welcome to the Study of French
The French program at Lander University is designed to instill in our students the fundamental abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing the French language. Even so, the study of French involves more than emphasis on these four basic language skills.
Your study of French provides an opportunity to develop a deep and abiding appreciation and interest for French history, art, politics, literature, and philosophy. Beyond acquiring conversational and writing skills and the understanding of spoken and written French, the student cannot help but obtain a sense of French culture and civilization.
