South Carolina Legislative Incentives for Future Excellence (LIFE) Scholarship

The LIFE Scholarship is a renewable scholarship for residents of South Carolina who are enrolled full-time.  Awards are made automatically so no application is required.  The award amount is determined annually by the SC General Assembly.  Currently, the maximum value is $5000.

SC HOPE Scholarship

The HOPE Scholarship is a non-renewable scholarship for entering freshmen residents of South Carolina who are enrolled full-time. Awards are made automatically so no scholarship application is required.  The HOPE Scholarship may be received for no more than two semesters and only during the first year of college enrollment.  Award amounts are determined annually by the SC General Assembly.  Currently, the maximum value is $2800.

Palmetto Fellows Scholarship

The Palmetto Fellows Scholarship Program is a merit-based scholarship program administered by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. Each Palmetto Fellow may receive a scholarship of up to $6,700 for their first year and up to $7500 each subsequent year.  Palmetto Fellows may be supported for a maximum of eight full‑time terms of study toward the first baccalaureate degree at a participating institution in South Carolina.   Selection and initial notification is made by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education (CHE). SC Teaching Fellows

The South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program is to recruit talented high school seniors into the teaching profession and to help them develop leadership qualities. Each year, the program provides Fellowships for up to 200 high school seniors who have exhibited high academic achievement, a history of service to the school and community, and a desire to teach South Carolina's children.  The scholarship provides up to $5700 for tuition and board and $300 for summer enrichment programs (contingent on funding from the S.C. General Assembly) administered by the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, & Advancement (CERRA). A Fellow agrees to teach in South Carolina one year for every year he/she received the Fellowship.   Applications are available from high school guidance counselors, teacher cadet instructors, and may be downloaded from the CERRA website at http://www.cerra.org/fellows .
