Welcome to the Lander University Banner Project Web site. Beginning in the fall of 2003, Lander University began replacing all of its core administrative computer systems (SIS, FRS, & HRS) with a new system. The new system is called Banner and is produced by SunGard Higher Education Systems of Malvern, Pennsylvania. In order to assist the College community with this transition, this site has been created to contain a wealth of information about the new Banner systems and the replacement project.

What is Banner?
Banner is an administrative software application developed specifically for higher education institutions. Banner maintains student, financial aid, and human resources data. It consists of five integrated systems:
- Advancement
- Financial Aid
- Finance
- Human Resources
- Student
The Banner system is highly integrated because they all share a common database. This common database is shared by everyone who uses Banner, which makes it easy to maintain records on someone who applies to the College, becomes a student, graduates, and then becomes an alumnus.
Banner Access Application
New users looking to acquire a Banner account must complete the Banner Account Request form (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) indicating what access needs and it should be signed by the Supervisor; then forwarded to the data owner for each module for approval. The data owner forwards the complete form to ITS then the account is created and the user is notified.
