Students living on campus who have a health concern, become sick or injured, should come to the Wellness Center for evaluation and/or treatment during regular office hours :  Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm or Friday 8a-1:30pm.

A Registered Nurse is available on campus for routine nursing treatments when school is in session, during office hours .

Students who need medical care must see the Campus Nurse, who will provide routine nursing treatment and determine if additional medical treatment is needed.

If the Campus Nurse determines that additional medical treatment is needed, the student will then receive a referral to go to the Montgomery Center for Family Medicine  which is a contracted physicians’ office.

After-Hours or on Weekends , students who are sick should call 8222 (University Police) for assistance.

Students who need emergency treatment will be transported to the Emergency Care Center at Self Regional Healthcare which is open 24-hours or to Express Medical Care of Self Regional Healthcare.  The student is responsible for all associated fees.

In Case of Emergency on campus, immediately report the name of the person involved, the location, and the nature of the problem to University Police at 8911.   University Police will notify the Emergency Medical Service (EMS).

Participation in physical activity always involves a risk of injury. Therefore, students should have adequate insurance coverage before enrolling in any physical education activity class or participating in intramural sports.

Lander University or the Division of PEES are NOT responsible for medical expenses resulting from participation (other than routine care for resident students) in physical education activity or classes or from participation in intramural sports.
