Lander Spirit Program
ABOUT
OUR PROGRAM
The Lander University Spirit Program is comprised of the Bearcat Cheerleaders,
Dance Team, and Mascot.
These groups work closely with the Bearcat Pep Band to promote university spirit and provide entertainment at all home basketball games and select campus events and community events.
The groups compete each year in the Peach Belt Conference competition which is held during the Peach Belt Basketball Tournament.
ABOUT
OUR COACH
The Lander University Cheerleaders are under the direction of Kim Schoolfield
of Clinton, SC. Kim is a former Lander Dancer and holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in
education from Lander.
A Safety Certified Coach with the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors (AACCA), Kim also works for Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) as a Camp Manager and First Aider. Coach Schoolfield is also a nationally certified cheerleading and dance judge.
Before coaching at Lander University, Kim was a middle school cheer coach and eighth grade language arts teacher. She is assisted by her husband, David Schoolfield, who is also an AACCA Safety Certified coach, an UCA First Aider, and nationally certified cheerleading and dance judge.
