ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

The Lander University Cheerleading Team consists of 12-20 members whose primary function is to promote university spirit and provide entertainment at all home basketball games and selected university and community events.

 

The cheerleaders compete annually in the Peach Belt Conference Cheerleading Competition which is held during the Peach Belt Conference Basketball Tournament.   In the future, the team plans to pursue additional competitive opportunities.

Each member of the team receives a uniform, practice wear, cheer shoes, cheer bag, poms,   and a warm-up. While there is presently no scholarship for the cheerleaders, each team member receives nearly $2,000 in clothing and training throughout the season.
