Students living on campus who have a health concern, become sick or injured, should come to the Wellness Center for evaluation and/or treatment during office hours.

Services of medical personnel (other than those with the Montgomery Center for Family Medicine) as well as the cost of medications, treatments, x-rays, etc., prescribed by a physician are the financial responsibility of the student.
The Montgomery Center for Family Medicine will not treat students for chronic illness present before entering Lander University. The Student Health Services fee does not provide for the cost of a general physical exam.
Some over-the-counter medications are available at Health Services; however, students should bring to campus a personal supply of basic medications that are usually taken at home for minor illness.
It is a good idea to bring:
§ Heating Pad
§ Cool Mist Humidifier
§ Thermometer
§ Any physician-prescribed medications for current illnesses
Allergy shots are not given at the Student Health Services. We can arrange for a student in need to receive this service from the Montgomery Center for Family Medicine. Please contact our office at 864-388-8885 for more information.
