About L.U.P.D.

 

Lander University's campus is nestled in the community of Greenwood, S.C. 

 

The university provides a 24-hour certified police force on campus to enforce Federal, State, Local Laws and University rules and regulations

 

Under the direction of the Chief of Police, the University Police Department is within the Division of Student Affairs and reports to the Vice-President of Student Affairs. 

 

L.U.P.D. also administers the university vehicle registration and parking policies on campus.

 

L.U.P.D. strives to maintain a safe and secure environment for members of the student body, faculty, staff, and the general public of the Lander community. 

 

The LUPD offers educational and crime prevention programs for students, faculty and staff.

* The Office of University Publications and the Student Newspaper "The Forum" assist LUPD by creating news releases and articles about campus crimes. This information is sent to local media and news services.

 

* Officers work with the student media to provide students, faculty and staff with accurate information on crimes and crime prevention.

 

* Campus safety topics are also covered in new student orientation and in residence halls throughout the year.
